Moved to uni..

I moved into my new halls of residence yesterday, its a bit weird, my room is nice enough, just feeling a bit odd that I had to go to the supermarket and buy my own food. Cook my own meals and clean my clothes. Currently on my own, none of my other 4 flatmates have moved in; it's a bit spooky "ooooooo"

15/05/11

Its not a massive acheivement, but at least its something :)

http://www.wigan-leigh.ac.uk/sec_News/News_Jan_2011/Students_express_their_True_Colours.asp

Students studying in the first year of their BTEC National Diploma Art & Design, based at School of the Arts, Wigan entered a new and exciting national art competition, True Colours, run by School Artists.
The students were given a brief to follow that allowed them to express themselves through art, allowing them to use their own creativity and imagination. The artworks could find influence from either artworks, styles, artists or an individual chosen subject matter.
Successful students,  Debbie Beardmore, Kayleigh Gregory, Rachel Hoskisson, Michael Walsh, Emma Crook, Dean Taylor, Joshua Airey, Jessica Pickavance, Patrick Bagaye, Lucy Physick, Jessica Gibney, Lisa Cowan, have been selected to have their work published in the True Colours Portfolio which was due to be published on the 31st December 2010.In addition, all successful entries will be judged and 10 winners will have their work printed onto canvas with the most successful school to send in entries also has the opportunity to win a £1,000 first prize.
This is the 2nd competition run by School Artists with over 3,000 entries being received from across the UK and overseas.
Tutor, Lee Paton said, “This was a great and exciting opportunity for Art & Design students to express themselves in a real creative manner. The competition encouraged students to be imaginative, expressive, perceptive and to showcase individual creative talents. It also offered them the opportunity to have their work selected to be published, for those selected it boosted their confidence, assured them that the Arts is the pathway they would love to continue to practise. For university applications it is an excellent selling point, offering real world experience, and this can be shared with prospective universities.
On a more personal level, as their tutor I feel so proud of all the students who took part, it really has shown that the students talents are being supported in the right way, and it is evident that real talent is coming through School for the Arts.”

I love..

Llamas! Day2 two. I really really love llamas I think they are wonderful, I think I can relate to them to be honest. I would like to own llamas when I'm older, maybe breed them. Nothing set in stone yet though. I could use their wool and dye it to embroider with it. I could try and set a trend!

I'm kind of going through a phase where I am almost obsessed with them. I get up every morning and spend a good half hour trying to perfect them. I don't think that mine are as wonderful as these but I still like them!
